In the standard a filled basket without an order is simply gone - nobody hears of it, nobody reminds anyone. Abandoned Cart spots such baskets, waits the set time and sends a reminder. One click leads back to the basket, just as the customer left it.

Usually yes. The extension uses the Twig blocks of the standard theme. For heavily customised themes we check compatibility first - tell us the theme it is based on.
Can I still install updates?
Yes. The extension only hooks into the official extension points; nothing in the Shopware core is changed.
